A deal is a piece of work you hope to win. Deals move through your stages until they are won or lost, and their values add up to your pipeline.
Create a deal
- Go to Sales → Deals and click New Deal. To create a deal for a particular contact, use + New Deal on their page instead.
- Enter a Deal Name, the only detail a deal must have. You can add its value in pounds, a stage, a Probability (%) (it starts at 50), an expected close date and notes.
- Click Create Deal.
A deal does not need a contact. To link one later, edit the deal.
Work with deals
The Deals page lists your deals in a table. It opens showing open deals; change the Status and Stage filters to see others. To find one deal quickly, use search.
Click a deal to open it. There you can edit it, see its contact, and close it:
- Mark as Won asks you to confirm.
- Mark as Lost asks for the reason it was lost.
How many open deals you can have depends on your plan. See billing and trial.
Stages
Deals move through your stages, such as Proposal and Negotiation. Admins set them up, in the order you work through them, under Settings → Manage Stages. See tags and stages.
The Deals Pipeline report
Reports → Deals Pipeline shows your pipeline’s figures, Pipeline by Stage (the open deals in each stage and their value) and This Month’s Activity (the deals won and lost this month). See reports.
