Forms put an enquiry or sign-up form on your website. Every submission adds the person to your contacts, with where they came from.

Create a form

  1. Go to Forms → Form Builder and click + Create Form.
  2. Give it a Form Name, which only your team sees, and a Form Title, which visitors see.
  3. Add fields: Text Input, Email, Phone Number, Text Area, Company Name, Dropdown Select and Checkbox. Email is always on a form. First and last name start on every form, and can be made optional or taken off. To save an answer to a contact property, set the field’s Map to Contact Property.
  4. In the settings beside the form, choose:
    • the Status: a new form is a Draft, and only takes submissions once it is Active
    • a default lead quality for the people it brings in
    • Enable maths CAPTCHA, a simple sum that stops most spam
    • one or two columns
    • a Data Sharing Notice, a message shown on the form
    • the button’s text and colours, and a thank-you message or an address to send people to afterwards
  5. Click Save Form. Preview shows it as visitors will see it.

Put it on your website

  1. On Form Builder, click the code icon (Get embed code) beside your form.
  2. Choose the Light or Dark theme to match your site.
  3. Copy one of the three snippets and paste it into your website’s HTML where the form should go.
  • JavaScript Embed (recommended): shows the form on your page and passes on the visitor’s campaign tracking.
  • iFrame Embed: the same form without the tracking, for sites that cannot run scripts.
  • Your Own Form: the whole form as plain HTML, for a developer to style to the website, such as an email sign-up in a footer. It shows at once with no iframe to load, includes the maths check when it is on, sends the same tracking, and reports leads to Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics itself, so the Kabooly listener script is not needed. If you change the form’s fields, copy the code again.

When someone fills it in

  • A new email address becomes a new contact. An email already on the account updates that contact, filling in details it did not have.
  • Admins get a notification in the CRM and an email with every answer.
  • The contact keeps which form they used, and the source, medium and campaign of their visit when the page address carried them.

The Forms list shows how many submissions each form has had. To see who came from a form, filter View Contacts by Form, or open Reports → Tracking & Attribution and see Form Performance.

To tag people from a form or email them straight away, use an automation with the Form Submitted trigger.
